Editorial Mission & Philosophy

OUR APPROACH TO AGENCY

storyspritzrostecli.lat was built for writers, game designers, and educators who want to understand why some interactive stories feel alive with possibility while others feel like clicking "Next" on a slideshow.

Too much advice about digital fiction fixates on software syntax or marketing promises ("Over 500,000 words and 40 endings!"). Our editorial stance is simpler: a reader does not experience your whole flowchart at once. They experience one decision at a time. If that single choice has clear stakes, honest framing, and an unmistakable narrative consequence, the story succeeds.

THREE CRAFT PRINCIPLES WE STAND BY

1. Consequence Over Spectacle: A quiet two-way choice where the reader must decide which friend to trust with a dangerous secret carries far more agency than a ten-button navigation menu with no emotional weight.

2. Finishability Is a Design Virtue: Unfinished first acts litter hard drives around the world because writers allow their early branches to multiply unchecked. We teach folding, state tracking, and storylet design so independent creators can actually cross the finish line.

3. Paper Before Code: Before opening a text editor, spread index cards across a table in natural light and trace the routes by hand. If a plot pathway looks tangled on paper, no scripting engine will magically untangle it.
